Padangsidimpuan, 11 December 2024 – SMP IT Terpadu Padangsidimpuan successfully hosted a technical meeting for the Second English Camp, aiming to improve the English proficiency and global competitiveness of its students. The event, held on Wednesday, brought together educators, speakers, and participants in preparation for the upcoming camp.
The meeting was opened by Umar Halomoan Daulay, M.Pd, the Head of the Soman Daulay Foundation. In his opening speech, he commended the success of the First English Camp and expressed optimism about the continued progress seen in the Second English Camp. “These programs signify a significant milestone in enhancing our students’ potential as global learners and contributors to society,” he remarked.
The welcoming speech was delivered by Nurhayati Br. Tarigan, S.Ag, who emphasized the importance of fostering an English-speaking community within the school. She highlighted the role of such initiatives in preparing students for the challenges of an increasingly globalized world.
The keynote address was presented by Dr. Hamka, M.Hum, the Head of the Department for Teacher and Professional Education of FTIK UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the camp’s activities, which are designed not only to improve their language skills but also to build their confidence and leadership.
In addition to the speeches, the program included a coaching session led by English Education students from FTIK UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan: Nurun Najiah, Aufa Nabila Siregar, Riska Evy Rianti Hasibuan, and Laila Tulhusna Harahap. These young coaches brought their expertise and enthusiasm to guide the participants through interactive learning strategies.
The camp will be attended by students from the seventh and eighth grades of SMP IT Terpadu Padangsidimpuan, with a mission to “improve, signify, and develop the English-speaking community in schools, aiming to enhance students as the best global learners and members of society.”
With the preparations underway, the Second English Camp is set to become another stepping stone in cultivating a dynamic and globally minded student community.
