Padangsidimpuan, December 11, 2024 – SMP IT Terpadu Padangsidimpuan successfully hosted its second English Camp, continuing the remarkable progress achieved during the first edition. This year’s program, themed around enhancing the school’s English community and fostering globally competent learners, brought together students, educators, and inspiring speakers in an engaging and dynamic environment.
The event opened with an inspiring speech by Umar Halomoan Daulay, M.Pd, Head of the Soman Daulay Foundation, who applauded the significant advancements the English Camp initiative has made over the past two years. He emphasized the importance of nurturing students’ language skills as a vital tool for their future in an increasingly interconnected world.
In her welcoming speech, Nurhayati Br. Tarigan, S.Ag expressed her enthusiasm for the camp’s mission, highlighting the goal of not only improving English proficiency but also building a strong community of learners capable of thriving on a global stage.
The highlight of the event was a keynote address by Dr. Hamka, M.Hum, the Head of the Department for Teacher and Professional Education. He underscored the pivotal role of programs like the English Camp in equipping students with the communication skills necessary to excel in both academic and professional contexts.
The camp also featured intensive coaching sessions led by English Education students from FTIK UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan, including Nurun Najiah, Aufa Nabila Siregar, Riska Evy Rianti Hasibuan, and Laila Tulhusna Harahap. These sessions provided seventh and eighth-grade participants with practical learning experiences designed to improve their conversational and written English skills through interactive activities.
With a clear mission to “improve, signify, and develop the English Community School for enhancing the best global learners and society,” the program reaffirmed SMP IT Terpadu Padangsidimpuan’s commitment to educational excellence. The camp not only strengthened students’ language abilities but also instilled confidence and a sense of community among participants.
